The West Haymarket Redevelopment Project is a multi-faceted endeavor intended to enrich and revitalize the 400 acres of blighted and underutilized property that lies on the western edge of Lincoln’s downtown and Haymarket district. The proposed project possesses a number of new and exciting elements, such as: a new civic arena, hotels, community plaza, retail and office space as well as upscale residential units. The area will be supported by the addition of about 7,000 parking spaces and ample public gathering areas.
The Pinnacle Bank Arena will have approximately 16,000 fixed-seats, with possible future expansion increasing capacity to 18,000. Distributed over approximately 450,000 square feet on four concourse levels, the facility will feature the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) men's and women's basketball teams as anchor tenants, and will provide dedicated locker rooms, training rooms, and support space for UNL game operations.
Premium seating options are still being finalized, but they may include three premium seating options: suites, loge boxes and club seats. Each option will include convenient parking in a VIP parking garage as well as other amenities. Visit Premium Seating to learn more.
Public parking for the West Haymarket Redevelopment Project will be provided through surface parking lots and public parking structures. A primary surface parking area will likely be located northwest of Pinnacle Bank Arena, immediately south of Haymarket Park. Addition surface parking will be provided in the public street rights-of-way throughout the redevelopment. Currently, two other public parking structures are also anticipated as part of the redevelopment.
Heating and cooling for Pinnacle Bank Arena and other developments in the West Haymarket Redevelopment Project will be provided by the District Energy Corporation (DEC). The plant will house boilers, cooling towers and thermal storage necessary to serving the Pinnacle Bank Arena and any future commercial/retail customers in the West Haymarket.
