As we left Pinnacle Bank Arena's ceremonial groundbreaking, a voice wondered aloud the simple thought that had preyed on all our minds since arriving at the site an hour before—
‘Who knew gardening tools could be so exciting?’
It’s true. From the moment we laid eyes on the gold-plated shovels resting in front of the stage, we were psyched. At last, construction time had arrived and we were ‘ready and raring’ to go. Honestly, it seemed like everyone in attendance was too—the disposition was as sunny as the sky overhead. Wednesday’s ceremony wasn’t just a groundbreaking for a new multi-purpose facility, it was the groundbreaking for Lincoln’s future as a Midwest sports and entertainment destination.
