Construction resumed Tuesday, Dec. 27, on Pinnacle Bank Arena after a six-day delay due to improperly bent rebar issued by a supplier. When project managers discovered the rebar was not fabricated correctly on Dec. 21, they immediately halted construction to give the supplier time to produce the required materials.
On Tuesday, workers began building new portions of the foundation with the new rebar. The old rebar is currently undergoing independent testing to determine if any further reinforcement or replacement would be necessary. No one was injured due to the rebar problem, which will not impact the arena's cost or completion date.
