The Pinnacle Bank Arena is beginning to take on a life of its own.

From the Lasch Brothers in 1885 to Russell Stover in 1950, Lincoln “has long been a Candy Town,” says Donald Lipski.

Another West Haymarket area project has been approved by the West Haymarket Joint Public Agency

We at HaymarketNOW! send our deepest condolences to the family of Councilwoman Jayne Snyder who passed away last evening following her battle with pancreatic cancer.

Today marks Lincoln’s tenth day with wacky, European-influenced multilane roundabouts and last time we checked (just a couple minutes ago) they had yet to produce any crashes, collisions, calamities or catastrophes. Hooray!

One could argue that the construction of the West Haymarket Arena will be the largest and most-notable construction project to occur in Lincoln in over 50 years. The centerpiece of the city’s West Haymarket redevelopment project, many view the arena as not only an entertainment venue, but also a source of great civic pride. Such a high-profile project requires the skill, knowledge, and expertise of a reputable Construction Manager at Risk.
Hampton Enterprises, working in conjunction with Mortenson Construction, is serving the role of Construction Manager at Risk on the West Haymarket Arena Project.

Winter is almost over and that means the West Haymarket Redevelopment Project will, once again, be back in full swing. Hooray! More action at the project site. More action at the JPA meetings. More action and information, here, at HaymarketNOW! So, let's start spring off right with the latest rundown of West Haymarket project contracts. All the ‘i’s are dotted and ‘t’s are crossed—check them out under the 'Contracts' tab of the 'Documents' section!

Ventures like the West Haymarket Redevelopment Project don’t occur too often in places like Lincoln, Nebraska. No, most undertakings of this scale are forged in cities a little more east or a little more west of Lincoln city limits (as in New York and Los Angeles, not Waverly and Pleasant Dale). Consequently, many viewed the Spring 2010 approval of the West Haymarket Arena proposition as a landmark moment in Lincoln’s history. Realizing the magnitude of the project, seven local design firms came together to form one of the project’s key partners, The Lincoln Haymarket Infrastructure Team (LHIT).

The Journal Star editorial, “Bidding behind the veil” argues that local sub-contractors should be able to compete on an equal basis with national firms in bidding for arena contracts. The members of the Joint Public Agency (JPA) agree. That is why we chose the Mortenson-Hampton proposal for bidding arena sub-contractors rather than the City’s traditional e-bid process.
